Palace Perspective
This gallery consists of images of the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, a monumental structure in the Beaux Arts architectural style designed by Bernard Maybeck, who took his inspiration from Roman and Greek architecture in designing what was essentially a fictional ruin from another time. Originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition to exhibit works of art presented there, it is one of only a few surviving structures from the Exposition and the only one still situated on its original site.
